408-350-2079Brianna Donaldson received her PhD from Indiana University. Her research interests include mathematical models of perceptual decision-making. Her responsibilities at AIM include Math Teachers’ Circle Network, a national network of professional development communities for middle school math teachers, and Research Experience for Undergraduate Faculty (REUF), a program for undergraduate faculty who are interested in mentoring undergraduate research.
Leslie Hogben
Associate Director for Diversity
hogben(at)aimath.orgLeslie Hogben is Dio Lewis Holl Chair in Applied Mathematics and Professor of Mathematics at Iowa State University, and Associate Director for Diversity at the American Institute of Mathematics. She received her BA from Swarthmore College and her PhD from Yale University. Her research is in linear algebra, graph theory, and applications of linear algebra. She is the editor of the Handbook of Linear Algebra, associate editor of the journals Linear Algebra and its Applications and Electronic Journal of Linear Algebra, and is the Secretary/Treasurer of the International Linear Algebra Society.

408-350-2089Ellen Heffelfinger supervises AIM’s historical mathematics collection and its working library. She holds a B.A. from Yale and an M.S. from Columbia. She spent 15 years in the rare book business, specializing in science, before joining AIM.
Pushpa Menon

408-350-2089Pushpa Menon manages AIM’s extensive reprint library. She holds an M.A. in Economics from Bangalore University and an M.A. in Economic Policy and Labor from Boston University. Most recently she became a certified gerontologist. Pushpa has taught economics at Bangalore University, worked for the World Bank, and worked in commercial and investment banking.

Lori Mains
Outreach Coordinator
mains(at)aimath.orgLori Mains oversees AIM’s outreach programs for the Morgan Hill community and talented math students in grades 4-12. Lori has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Union College in Schnectady, NY. A former IBM employee, Lori has spent the past ten years working with school age children and math, through both school based programs and one-on-one tutoring. The current programs which she administers include the Math Mardi Gras (a one day community math event), Mathletics (4th-6th grade), MathCounts (6th-8th grade) and Mu Alpha Theta (9th-12th grade).

408-350-2033Kent Morrison directs the open textbook initiative as a member of the AIM Editorial Board and helps maintain the technology infrastructure at AIM. He received his PhD from the University of California at Santa Cruz and was on the faculty and served as department chair at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He has a number of research interests including combinatorics, probability, and game theory.

Here at AIM, her job includes helping manage the Math Teachers’ Circle Network, assisting with the financial administration, and evaluating AIM’s workshops and SQuaREs.
